A Personal Account & Brief History of PURR
I totaled my work van, sliding off a patch of ice on highway 97 in Oregon on my way back to PURR, January 2, 2023.
The van didn't survive, but miraculously I did with no injuries.
Finally, Nocturnal Productions, with Todd Tweet and Bethany, closed out the year with a fire Halloween bash.

2023 Overcoming Personal Adversity & Self Reflection

Not many of you know (as I kept it mostly to myself) that at the beginning of 2023, I was involved in a vehicle accident that totaled my work van. Fortunately, I suffered no physical injury, although I was in shock and triggered, as my brother passed away from a vehicle accident 6 years ago. I became withdrawn and less active with PURR activities, having less mental and emotional bandwidth to manage the social club part.
Fortunately, with the support of the creative community (DACHA, EOS, Rise to Shine, Nocturnal Productions), PURR was still able to host several events, paid its bills and made it through 2023. Also new members, Todd Tweet and Charles Sauvageau, added new life to PURR.
Personally, I finished the year strong with time to travel, self reflect and heal. Looking back in the past 4 years, I’m proud of making PURR into a source of inspiration for what is possible. We put ourselves out there and were not afraid to try new things and not afraid to fail. The space offers both established and upcoming artists opportunities to experiment, practice and share their work. I’m also proud of the fact that PURR is not a static, singular cookie cutter venue, as it is continuously evolving and adapting to serve a diverse community.
